March over to the Bud Billiken Parade
All hail the Bud Billiken Parade, now in its 92nd year, the largest African-American parade in the United States. This years theme is Back to School, Back to Life, Back to Bud Billiken, and commemorates the past and future of the African-American community on the South Side of Chicago. Rolling down Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for two miles through historic Bronzeville and into Washington Park, the parade features colorful floats, marching bands, dance teams, and more.
Chicago Sky forward Candace Parker, two-time WNBA Most Valuable Player, has been named grand marshal of the parade and festival.

After the parade, hang around for the Bud Billiken Festival at Washington Park for vendors, food, entertainment, and coronavirus vaccine stations.
