October 30, 2014 – According to Howard Swartz, vice president of production and development at Discovery Channel, quoted Wednesday in the entertainment trade magazine Variety

  • Two world records are within Wallenda’s reach. He could break the record for the high-wire walk with the steepest incline and the highest walk while blindfolded.
  • Two screens-within-a-screen during the walk between Marina City’s towers. Discovery Channel viewers will see Wallenda on one screen and commercials on the other.
  • Five miles of electronic cable.
  • Ten-second delay between what is happening live and what Discovery Channel shows.
  • Several condominium units are being used to secure some cables and the television production company, Peacock Productions, had to negotiate with each owner individually.
