Falk film to be shown at Ebert festival

March 30, 2010 – Not to be outdone by the Siskel Film Center, a festival featuring films reviewed by Roger Ebert has booked the documentary about Marina City resident Vincent Falk.

Vincent: A Life In Color will be shown April 24 at the 12th annual Roger Ebert’s Film Festival in Champaign, Illinois. The film is scheduled for 2 p.m. that day at the Virginia Theatre on West Park Avenue.

Writing in his Chicago Sun-Times blog last June, Ebert called the film “remarkable” and “beautifully photographed.”

On May 7, the documentary will open at the Siskel Film Center on North State Street in Chicago. It will be shown daily from May 7 through May 13.

Since November 2008, the documentary has been shown at eight film festivals. It won “Best Documentary” at the Kansas International Film Festival in September 2009 and a “Best of Fest” award at the Bend Film Festival in Oregon the next month.

Roger Ebert Pulitzer Prize winner Roger Ebert (left) has been a film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times since 1967. He was on television for 23 years, co-hosting two programs with Chicago Tribune film critic Gene Siskel.
