City drops consumer fraud complaint against MTCA

May 22, 2009 – Citing a settlement in the case, the City of Chicago officially dropped a consumer fraud complaint against Marina Towers Condominium Association.

Mindy Verson The complaint had been filed in December 2007 by Mindy Verson (left), a unit owner at Marina City who says she was not allowed to see financial records of the condo association as required by city ordinance.

Verson says she was allowed to see the records on May 7 but declined to go into more detail.

The case, specifically, was “non-suited” at a hearing on May 12. According to Efrat Stein, Director of Public Information for the Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection, “the parties reached a settlement agreement that was satisfactory to everyone involved.”
