May 18, 2010 – A small but smoky trash fire at the Unitrin Building attracted numerous fire department vehicles to the north side of the Loop Tuesday afternoon. Wacker Drive was closed between Dearborn and Wabash. State Street was closed between the bridge and Lake.

According to a Deputy District Chief on the scene, the fire department did not evacuate the building, but more than 100 office workers left on their own. Windows near the 14th floor of the 41-story building were seen open. There were no reports of any injuries.
