The Spa at Trump extends deadline for group rate

July 3, 2008 – Hearing of the closing of Crunch fitness facility at Marina City, The Spa at Trump has extended a deadline for residents to qualify for a reduced corporate rate at its health club on Wabash Avenue.

July 9 appears to be the deadline for Marina City residents to take advantage of a group discount of the enrollment fee – normally $2,000 but reduced to $1,000 if a minimum of six residents join. Following an inquiry by Marina City Online, this group rate was extended to any six residents regardless of whether they know each other or are otherwise part of a formal group.

The monthly fee would still be $190. Membership Director Caroline Rawlings reports most of an initial group of six residents has been recruited.

The 23,000 square foot facility on the 14th floor of Trump International Hotel and Tower includes 11 spa treatment rooms and a 16,000 square foot state-of-the-art health club. The facility is available only to members and guests of the hotel, and membership will be capped at 250.

[Both founders of Marina City Online belong to The Spa at Trump and paid the corporate rate. The “Member Number” of one of the founders, who joined recently, suggests the Trump facility has reached 20 percent of its membership goal.]
