June 20, 2013 – Chicago police are not amused and taking seriously a report by eyewitnesses that three men jumped with parachutes from the roof of Trump International Hotel & Tower early Thursday morning.

According to Officer Joshua Perkiss, the men entered the 92-story building on Wabash Avenue in River North at about 12:30 a.m. and “forced entry to the top floor.”

They put on parachutes and jumped from the rooftop. Where they landed is unknown. Investigators are still trying to figure out who the men are. They are calling it criminal trespass.

A manager at Trump Tower declined to comment.

On Thursday, police released these frames from surveillance video of the men as they passed a stairwell on their way to the roof…

The height of the main roof of Trump Tower is 1,133 feet. The activity is called BASE jumping in which a participant jumps from a fixed object and uses a parachute to break his or her fall. BASE stands for buildings, antennas, spans (such as bridges), and earth.

Published reports say it was employees of the hotel who called police about the incident.
