CTA operator attacked on Blue Line train

October 27, 2015 – A CTA train operator is in stable condition after being attacked in her train at the Clark & Lake subway station on Sunday.

The 43-year-old woman, whose name was not released, pulled into the station at about 7:25 p.m. A man jumped through the window of the train operator’s cabin and began punching and kicking her. Commuters on the subway platform were able to detain him until police arrived.

Chicago Police Department Late Monday evening, Chicago Police announced the arrest of Braulio Portes (left), age 26, of Des Plaines, northwest of the Loop.

He was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery of a transit employee. He will appear in bond court on Tuesday.

The victim was treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
