October 27, 2015 – A CTA train operator is in stable condition after being attacked in her train at the Clark & Lake subway station on Sunday.

The 43-year-old woman, whose name was not released, pulled into the station at about 7:25 p.m. A man jumped through the window of the train operator’s cabin and began punching and kicking her. Commuters on the subway platform were able to detain him until police arrived.

Late Monday evening, Chicago Police announced the arrest of Braulio Portes (left), age 26, of Des Plaines, northwest of the Loop.

The victim was treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
