31-Mar-19 – A 47-story glass retail, residential, and hotel tower could replace a shuttered building at Michigan Avenue & Wacker Place that once housed a Walgreen’s.

If approved by the city, 300 NMA would be built on the northwest corner of the intersection.

The 523-foot-tall building would consist of a 10-story, 280-room hotel and 29-story, 290-unit residence over two levels of retail space.

The proposal by Chicago-based developer Sterling Bay, and designed by bKL Architecture, has the support of Chicago Loop Alliance and The Magnificent Mile Association, according to 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly.

The project must be approved by the Chicago Plan Commission and the city’s Committee on Zoning, Landmarks, and Building Standards.
