42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly says repairs by the Department of Water Management to Jane M. Byrne Plaza were “much-needed.” They include repair and replacement of damaged sidewalks, seating areas, decorative lamp posts, planter beds, fencing, and plumbing, along with sewer and catch basins on nearby Pearson Street.

Improvements to the Chicago Water Tower itself include repair of stairs leading to the Water Tower, repair of light fixtures, and replacement of windows at the top.
