theWit theWit hotel re-opens

October 19, 2020 – theWit Hotel has re-opened. The hotel at State & Lake in the Loop sustained severe damage to its ground floor during riots in late May.

“We are optimistic in reopening our doors to the public in the Loop, as it is the core to our city,” said Scott Greenberg, CEO of SMASHotels, which manages theWit. “In doing so, we hope to bring people back to the city and give them the comfort and confidence to start going out and enjoying a cocktail on a rooftop, or staying at a hotel, knowing their safety is a top priority to us.”

A spokesperson for the hotel says spaces have been “reimagined with a fresh new concept to follow all social distant guidelines.”

theWit’s rooftop venue, ROOF, is also open. Its hours are Thursday through Saturday, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 6:00 p.m.
