Selling t-shirts custom-designed by 15 local artists, the vendors raised $7,000. Another $6,000 was raised online, according to Friends of the Chicago River, which operates the bridgehouse and museum.

The December 8 event, Give A Shirt, was organized by Daily Planet Productions, a video, animation, and motion graphics studio.

Also sold were tote bags, notebooks, posters, and hand towels.

StreetWise vendors buy magazine issues for 90 cents and sell them on the street for $2 each.
