August 3, 2013 – Two people from the south side of Chicago ended up stabbed on North State Street late last month in what police are calling a domestic incident, as the victims may have known the person who attacked them.

On July 19 at about 2:10 a.m., a 37-year-old women and a 29-year-old man were on the sidewalk east of Marina City when police say a man with an eight-inch switchblade stabbed them. A witness – a woman who may have been with the group – drove the victims to a hospital.

The woman who was stabbed was in surgery when police arrived at the hospital. They talked with the injured man, who was in stable condition. The victims and the witness are from an area near East 95th Street.

The suspect is described as a 26-year-old African-American man, five-feet-eight-inches tall, 185 pounds, with black dreadlocks. He was wearing a gray t-shirt and Nike gym shoes.

When police canvassed the west side of the block between Marina City and Kinzie Street, they found there was a surveillance camera in the area but it did not work.
