July 7, 2009 – A 4:50 a.m. call to the Chicago Fire Department on Sunday brought about five CFD vehicles to Marina City.

According to Larry Langford, Director of Media Affairs, there was a report of smoke in a unit on the 54th floor of one of the residential towers.

“Most probably meat on stove,” says Langford, although the exact nature of the call was not available. “Chief was only on scene three minutes, so it could not have been too serious.”
