May 4, 2010 – Two dollars will get you from the Michigan Avenue Bridge almost to Union Station starting this week. Shoreline Sightseeing started up its commuter water taxi service for the season on Monday.

This is the fifth year Shoreline has been offering water taxi service. Shoreline co-owner Chip Collopy says it is an opportunity to “enjoy a scenic ride in the fresh air with no worries about crowded busses, traffic, or construction delays.”

You may catch a water taxi Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and in the afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Shoreline boards from the northeast corner of the Michigan Avenue Bridge. The Willis Tower/Union Station dock is across the river from Union Station and accessible from the Adams Street Bridge.

Tickets are available from a kiosk on either dock. A ten-ride pass is available for $15.00.
