Shamrock race to shuffle down State Street

Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle

March 12, 2012 – Although it will follow a new route, this year’s Shamrock Shuffle 8K race will still run south on State Street.

40,000 runners are expected to compete in the 33rd annual Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle, which starts and finishes in Grant Park on March 25. The first wave of runners starts at 8:30 a.m. and the second wave starts at 9:15 a.m.

In River North and Streeterville, the course goes north on Columbus Drive, west on Grand Avenue, and south on State Street. The streets will be closed to traffic from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. but police will re-open each street as the last runners pass through.
