Schnitzel, spaetzle coming to Illinois Street

LoopNet

April 13, 2014 – Schnitzel, spaetzle, kolackys, and apple strudel are some of the European dishes that will be offered by a new restaurant on Illinois Street in River North.

A building permit was issued on Friday for renovation of the 4,200 square foot ground floor of 11 West Illinois Street. That is between Snickers Bar & Grill, which has been around since the 1980s, and American Junkie, a sports bar/restaurant that opened in March 2013.

The new restaurant will be called Bohemian House and will open in late May. Its executive chef, Jim Papadopoulos, was previously a chef at Sam & Harry’s, a steakhouse in Schaumburg.

The four-story brick and timber building, tenants of which include a recording studio, is owned by Chicago attorney and real estate developer Howard Adalstein.
