Former HOB hotel GM back at Sax

November 12, 2011 – The former manager of the House of Blues hotel at Marina City has returned to Chicago to run the same hotel, now under a different name, owner, and management company.

John Price John Price (left) took over as general manager of Hotel Sax on November 7, replacing Michael Carsch who had been with Sax since December 1, 2009.

Price worked at the House of Blues hotel from June 1998 to December 2005. For the last nine months of his time there, he was general manager. On February 22, 2006, it was announced the hotel had been sold to its current owner, LaSalle Hotel Properties of Bethesda, Maryland.

Price went on to be director of operations at Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego for two years, then general manager of Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago for two years, then in April 2010 he went back to California, where he was general manager of Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco.

Thompson Hotel Associates has managed Hotel Sax since December 2009.
