September 11, 2016 (Above) Chicago Fire Department Commissioner Jose Santiago (saluting at far left), Mayor Rahm Emanuel, 30th Ward Alderman Ariel Reboyras, 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly, and crews of Engine 42 fire station in River North observe a minute of silence at 7:46 a.m. on Sunday, the 15th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
Our Chicago fire fighters answered that call also, said Emanuel. It wasnt our city but it was our country. It wasnt their fellow residents but it was their fellow citizens.
Flags are at half-mast for the next three days at police and fire stations throughout Chicago.
