Hair salon to open in Trump retail space

March 26, 2012 – A 3,400 square foot retail space that has sat empty at Trump Tower for about three years will get a tenant this summer.

Trump International Hotel & Tower announced on Monday that Anthony Cristiano, described as “a world-renowned hairstylist,” would open a salon on a lower level of the four-story retail space that overlooks the Chicago River. Cristiano’s clients include Mariah Carey, Demi Moore, Uma Thurman, and Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima.

“It has been a life-long dream to open my signature salon brand,” said Cristiano in a news release. His salon, he says, will offer an experience comparable to “sitting at a vanity inside the comfort of a luxurious private home.”

An opening date was not given. Since last July, management at Trump Tower has said a “very high-end hair salon” was committed to leasing the space but details were not released until today.
