Construction completed on Wit ROOF roof

May 25, 2012 – The heavy lifting was completed in March and now theWit hotel finally has a new roof over its head. The hotel recently released this photo of its popular rooftop bar, now with a retractable, multi-colored roof.

On March 4, a Sikorsky twin-turbine helicopter belonging to Midwest Helicopter Airways delivered 17 steel beams to the roof. You can actually see some of the beams in this photo by Tyler Curtis and Matt Reeves. (Click on image to view larger version.)

Completely glass-enclosed and with moveable walls, the rooftop bar will be open year-round. A special series of “ROOF Sundays” through September 2 begins this Sunday, with doors opening at noon. Dancers in vibrant swimwear, superstar DJs, you know the routine.
