Police warn of broad daylight robberies near Mag Mile

June 14, 2016 – Two robberies in River North happened in the middle of the day and on the same day, June 7.

The first incident happened at about 11 a.m. in the 600 block of North Dearborn Street. Two residential buildings are located on the block, The Farallon at 600 North Dearborn Street and 33 West Ontario.

A half-hour later, another robbery happened about ten blocks northeast near the corner of Michigan Avenue and Walton Street. That stretch, between Michigan Avenue and State Street, is home to 900 Michigan Avenue Shops and Waldorf Astoria hotel and residences.

In each incident, the robber approached the victim from behind, implied he had a handgun, and demanded property.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 25 years old, of average height and weight.
