3-Sep-18 – At least three more people have been robbed in River North since late June after getting into a vehicle they thought was a ride-hailing service.

Chicago police say the robbers are two young women with the same descriptions as suspects in three similar robberies.

The robberies happened during early morning hours. The victims, once inside the vehicle, were robbed at gunpoint or by other force.

The latest reported incidents happened on June 24 in the 700 block of North Larrabee Street, West Hubbard Street between State and Clark on August 5, and 400 block of North Dearborn Street on August 10.

Robberies were also reported in the 2100 block of North Dayton Street on August 12 and 2300 block of North Ashland Avenue on August 31. Both locations are north of River North.

They are in addition to three River North robberies the women are suspected of committing that police warned about in August, including one robbery in front of Redhead Piano Bar at 16 West Ontario Street.

Between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. on July 27, a man stepped into an SUV that he thought he had ordered using a ride-hail app. Two men and two women inside the vehicle robbed the man by force of his wallet and a gold chain.

The women are described as black, 20 to 30 years old, five-feet-five-inches to five-feet-nine-inches tall, and weighing 120 to 150 pounds.
