Sci-fi worlds collide in east tower roof rap
August 6, 2012 – (Above) Young wags dressed as characters from Star Wars and Star Trek perform in a rap video, much of which was shot on Marina City’s east tower observation deck on June 9. (Click on image to view larger version.) “A long time ago in a galaxy that parties 24/7” begins Party Space Station, a homage to the science fiction classics. The three-minute video was uploaded to YouTube on Monday. Mike Altstadt, of the Chicago-area music/comedy team Mike and Cheese, says while filming the video in downtown Chicago, they ran into a resident of Marina City. “She was very excited about the costumes and invited us up to film on her roof. As you can see, the downtown view from Marina looked absolutely beautiful.”
