Ramp employee victim in early morning strong-arm robbery

Jun. 12, 2012 – An employee of Central Parking System may have interrupted a theft from a car parked at Marina City last month and was assaulted by the suspects.

On May 28 at 5:15 a.m., according to Chicago police, the ramp employee saw two young men entering a vehicle. When he approached the men and asked why they were on the parking lot, the men claimed the vehicle belonged to them. The employee knew that was not correct and tried to call 911 from his mobile telephone.

That is when the suspects pulled the phone from his hand and punched the ramp employee on his face and body. Then they pushed him to the ground, took his phone, and fled in an unknown direction.

The victim suffered minor bruises to his right eye, lip, jaw, and right arm. Three people were nearby and helped him until police arrived.

Both suspects are described as black, about 18 years old, five feet nine inches tall, 150 pounds, and one of the men had dreadlocks.
