Ground broken for 12-story mixed-use project in Gold Coast

November 27, 2020 – Ground is broken, and construction has started on a 12-story mixed-use project in the Gold Coast neighborhood. 1210 North State Parkway will have 89 upscale apartments, 18,000 square feet of retail space, and on-site parking. 70 percent of the apartments will have a private balcony or terrace.

Newcastle Limited, a Chicago-based real estate investment firm, says it has a $41.3 million construction loan and the project will be finished in early 2022.

Newcastle has proposed a 29-story apartment building at 1130 North State Street. That project is waiting for city approval.
