Baltimore woman wins Trump oasis

October 25, 2011 – Housing will not be an issue for Deborah Robertson of Baltimore, Maryland, if she decides to move to Chicago. Robertson won the fully furnished condo unit at Trump International Hotel & Tower that was the grand prize in HGTV’s “Urban Oasis” giveaway.

HGTV made the announcement late Tuesday morning on the Urban Oasis blog. Robertson was said to be in tears when designer Vern Yip broke the news to her on Monday evening. “So excited,” she told Yip in video that will be broadcast on HGTV on December 29. “I feel like I’m going to faint. I never in a million years expected this.”

The 1,000 square foot one-bedroom unit on the 35th floor of Trump Tower is part of a prize package worth more than $750,000. The Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture sponsored the sweepstakes.

Robertson is a 57-year-old staff assistant at the Social Security Administration in Baltimore. According to HGTV, she entered the contest twice every day, seven days a week, until she was selected by Yip in a random drawing in Tennessee from nearly 14 million entries. She will visit Chicago for the first time next week.
