Nordstrom shoplifter flashes knife, gets away

March 2, 2016 – Caught by two security people at Nordstrom in River North last month, a shoplifter showed a knife with a three-inch blade to persuade them to let him go.

Nordstrom On February 13 at about 2:15 p.m., according to Chicago Police Department, a man took into a fitting room a Technical Quilted Vest (left) worth $325 and a Burberry London silk tie worth $190.

After he left the fitting room, an employee of Nordstrom discovered the security sensors had been removed from the items and left behind.

Two loss prevention agents caught up with the man. As one of the agents tried to grab his arm, he pulled away and displayed the knife. Feeling threatened, the security people released the man and let him leave the department store with the stolen items.

He is described as a black male, 25 to 35 years old, six feet tall, 200 pounds, black crew-cut hair, brown eyes, and light brown complexion.
