Residents nabbed in money laundering investigation

April 12, 2012 – Two Marina City residents were arrested in March, charged with money laundering as part of a joint investigation by Chicago police and the U.S. Secret Service.

Police and Secret Service agents arrived on March 8 at 2:30 p.m. with search and arrest warrants. The bond on the arrest warrants was $1 million each.

Chicago police will only say the men are white, one is 41 years old, and the other is 33 years old.

The investigation involves “skimming,” which on the Secret Service website is described as electronic skimming related to credit and debit cards.
