Dick’s Last Resort hosts its first Elvis contest at Marina City

Jan. 6, 2009 – If Elvis Presley was still alive, he’d be 73 years old on Thursday. Dick’s Last Resort is celebrating with an Elvis impersonation contest.

The Marina City restaurant/bar is giving $500 to the best Elvis impersonator. It’s an annual event for Dick’s, but its first since moving to Marina City last October.

A company spokesperson says a band will start playing at 8 p.m. and the contest will begin at 9 p.m. According to the company’s web site, “we’ll be raffling off cool Elvis memorabilia junk!”
