Trailer for ‘Bollywood’ thriller offers glimpses of Chicago Loop
September 9, 2013 If the teaser trailer is any indication, the Chicago Loop, Chicago River, and River North have some dramatic screen time in Dhoom 3, a Hindi-language film scheduled for release on December 20. (Click on above image to view larger version.)
Yash Raj Films, a company founded by Indian entertainment mogul Yash Chopra, uploaded the one-minute-27-second trailer to YouTube on Thursday. Chopras son, Aditya, is the producer of Dhoom 3. Yash Chopra died in Mumbai last October while this film was being made.
The movie shot in Chicago from August to December. On September 15, a helicopter filmed an action scene on the Chicago River east of the Wabash Avenue Bridge. Filmmakers were less than honest with nearby property managers, saying the title of the film was the less crowd-attracting Victors Venom.
When a scene was shot on the Chicago Riverwalk on September 16 patrons of OBriens Riverwalk Café were treated to stern warnings from a young production assistant against flash photography during the scene. The assistant threatened to ban anyone from taking a photo if he saw just one person using a flash. Chicago Film Office director Rich Moskal has said film crews do not have the right to do this.
Dhoom is a series of action thrillers very popular in India. The new film stars Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, and Aditya Chopras younger brother, Uday.
