April 2, 2018 A mob of young men made off with $25,000 worth of purses from a Gold Coast department store and a Lexus.
Six African-American teens walked into Barneys New York on Friday at about 1:30 p.m. and left, witnesses say, with armloads of high-end purses.
They ran out of the store, followed by a security guard who did not catch them. As they ran east on Oak Street, some of the men jumped into an idling Lexus that belonged to a dentist on Michigan Avenue. The rest of the group got into a second car and both cars sped away.
