March 7, 2022 – Commuters and visitors to the Loop arriving by Metra will get more help with directions.

Chicago Loop Alliance is expanding its “Street Team” program to include Metra train stations in the Loop, in addition to patrolling State Street and parts of Wabash and Dearborn seven days a week.

Wearing yellow and black uniforms, the team greets workers and visitors, provides directions, and assists people experiencing homelessness.

“The implementation of these efforts to conduct community outreach and ensure the safety and enjoyment of all Loop visitors, residents, and workers will enhance the day-to-day experience for everyone in the Loop,” said Michael Edwards, President/CEO of Chicago Loop Alliance.

CLA has wanted to expand the Street Team since 2020 but the effort was put on hold by the COVID-19 pandemic.
