Loop McDonald’s sued in beverage dispenser incident

Photo by Steven Dahlman April 8, 2014 – A mishap with a beverage dispenser at a McDonald’s on North Michigan Avenue has led to a lawsuit against the fast food chain.

Joy Ramirez says she was at the McDonald’s at Two Illinois Center on the north side of the Loop when a metal lid to the dispenser fell and hit her head.

She is suing McDonald’s Corporation for $50,000. The case was filed on March 21. A case management hearing is scheduled for May 29.

The McDonald’s location is owned and operated by an independent franchisee.
