Marina City LEGO model unveiled at Looptopia

May 5, 2008 – A four-foot version of Marina City, constructed of LEGO bricks, made an appearance May 2 at Looptopia, the dusk-to-dawn artistic celebration.

Although nearing completion, architect Adam Tucker has decided to re-design the parking ramp. He says the Marina City model will be finished and on display at BrickWorld 2008, a large exhibit of LEGO structures scheduled for June 19-22 at the Westin North Shore Hotel in Wheeling, Illinois.

Tucker also displayed his LEGO models of Sears Tower, John Hancock Center, and Trump International Hotel & Tower. He has built 16 skyscrapers using the toy bricks, and has been working on the Marina City model since January. In February, he estimated the model would contain 12,000 pieces.
