Construction starts on west tower laundry renovation

July 19, 2009 – Photos of the west tower laundry room on Sunday afternoon show demolition is complete and construction has started on a renovation project that will add a fitness room.

The laundry room has been closed since June 22, with west tower residents having to walk over to the east tower to do laundry. An original estimate by residential property manager David Gantt was for the facility to be closed for “a month or so.”

On January 15, Marina Towers Condominium Association unanimously approved a controversial $435,000 plan to build a fitness room on the 20th floor of one residential tower and a new MTCA meeting room in the other tower.
