Laughs are on the Chicago River during ‘comedy cruise’

July 20, 2015 – Four stand-up comedians from Zanies Comedy Club will see what jokes float during two 90-minute “comedy cruises” this fall.

Shoreline Sightseeing is working with the Old Town neighborhood comedy club on two on-board shows, one in August and the other in September. A spokesperson for Shoreline was not certain if this is the first time a comedy act has performed during any sightseeing tour on the river but she was certain it’s the first time Shoreline has tried it.

Pat McGann On Friday, August 7, starting at 8 p.m., Bill Bunker and Pat McGann (left) will perform. McGann has appeared on The Daily Show and twice on Late Night with David Letterman.

Performing on Friday, September 18, starting at 7:30 p.m., will be Bill Gorgo and Dobie Maxwell (right), who has appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Dobie Maxwell

Three of the four comedians work with the Emmy-nominated television show, The Chicago Stand Up Project, a reality series that documents famous Chicagoans, not known for comedy, as they get a crash course in stand-up and perform live at Zanies.

The comedy cruises will depart from Shoreline’s dock at Polk Bros. Park at Navy Pier. Boarding begins 15 minutes before departure. Tickets, which include both performances and one drink ticket, are $39 per person and you must be at least 21 years old. A cash bar will also be available.
