LaSalle appoints new COO to replace Barnello

October 8, 2009 – With Michael Barnello promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer, LaSalle Hotel Properties – owner of Hotel Sax and other commercial property at Marina City – has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer.

Alfred L. Young will also serve as Executive Vice President. The real estate investment trust made the announcement on Tuesday. Young, currently the Managing Director of Hospitality for LaSalle’s Caribbean Property Group, will start his new job on November 3. He is 42 years old and has been with LaSalle since 2000.

“We are very pleased and excited to have Al returning to LaSalle,” said Barnello in a news release. “He brings a vast amount of hospitality industry experience, particularly in the asset management and acquisitions arenas.”

In September, Barnello, the former COO, replaced as CEO Jon Bortz, who retired after 11 years with LaSalle.
