Langham announces new sales director, afternoon tea

Langham Hospitality Group June 6, 2012 – The new luxury hotel taking shape at 330 North Wabash continues to acquire upper management. Langham Hospitality Group announced on Wednesday it has hired a Director of Sales and Marketing. Joe Aguilera will oversee the hotel’s sales, public relations, marketing, social media, and revenue teams.

He was most recently Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Elysian Hotels & Resorts in Chicago.

The company is still saying its 316-room hotel will open in mid-2013. The Langham will occupy floors 2-13 of the 52-story building and include meeting facilities, a spa, fitness center, and lap pool. Its restaurant will offer alfresco dining on the plaza in the summer. According to a news release, “the property will feature all the amenities and services the brand is known for, including a daily afternoon tea, inspired by its sister property, The Langham, London, which opened in 1865.”

Langham Hospital Group is a subsidiary of Great Eagle Holdings, which is listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange. In March, the group announced it had hired Kevin Robinson, who also used to work for Elysian Hotels, to be general manager of the Langham Chicago.
