Kimmel recovering from heart attack in prison

April 28, 2009 – Former Marina City resident Gary Kimmel, currently serving a 37-month prison sentence for money laundering, is recovering from a heart attack. The incident happened in late March.

According to multiple sources, Kimmel collapsed while exercising. He was taken to a hospital in Paducah, Kentucky, which is about 50 miles south of Marion, Illinois, where Kimmel is located.

Gary Kimmel He is currently back at the United States Penitentiary in Marion. According to Public Information Officer Tom Werlich, Kimmel (left) declined to allow further information on the incident to be released to Marina City Online.
