Mr. T makes the jump. Wisconsin tourist not so lucky.

June 15, 2012 – More State Street Bridge stunts taped on Sunday morning were shared with the world on Wednesday evening. This time, a replica of the Chicago performer known as “Mr. T” was put in the driver’s seat of a small yellow car. The car made the jump all right but Mr. T was lost when the car flipped.

Next up was “an obese tourist from Green Bay.” The dummy, riding a scooter, did not even hit the other side; it just fell into the Chicago River.

The bridge was closed for about four hours early Sunday morning to let a video crew send six objects, one at a time, up one raised end toward the other. The ten-foot bratwurst, fake cow, yellow car, and replica of “The Bean” at Millennium Park made it. The tourist and the replica of the Picasso sculpture at Daley Plaza did not.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, the stunts cost about $15,000 and required backup from the fire department, police department, and city transportation engineers. The objects were pulled up the ramp by a rope attached to a pulley attached to a truck driving south on State Street.
