Shouger (left) was the first General Manager of theWit hotel when it opened in the Loop in 2009. Both hotels are owned by ECD Company and managed by SMASHotels.

For five years, he was Managing Director of the Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s Hospital, the first and largest of five Ronald McDonald Houses in the Chicago area. The houses accommodate families of children with complex medical needs.

His 32 years of experience also includes seven years as Rooms Division Director at Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando Resort.

Scott Greenberg, CEO of SMASHotels and founder of Hotel EMC2 called Shouger “the quintessential candidate for this position.”

Hotel EMC2 is listed as one of the Top 25 Best Hotels in Chicago by Condé Nast Traveler magazine and in 2017 Architectural Digest said it was one of the 12 Best Designed Hotels Opening This Year.
