Police respond to two incidents at HOB in February

March 2, 2012 – Bumping into a woman on the dance floor at Marina City’s House of Blues last month did not end well for a South Elgin man. According to police, at about 10:39 p.m. on February 4, 35-year-old David M. Carpenter got into a verbal altercation with an unidentified man. He is accused of then striking the man with his fist, cutting him above his right eye. The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital and treated for minor abrasions.

Security at HOB held onto Carpenter until police arrived. He was charged with battery and will be in court on March 12.

An HOB security guard was the victim of an assault six days later. Just after midnight on the morning of February 10, security personnel were breaking up a fight during a concert when an unidentified 24-year-old man, according to the police report, “started flailing his arms and spit” on the guard.

The unidentified guard did not press charges but signed the report to document the incident.

Sons of Mary

Scheduled to appear that night at HOB were the bands Sons of Mary (above), Inbound Kennedy, Farkus, Even Bigger, and Cheryl & the Dynamics.
