September 24, 2016 Harmonica Hinds (center, with red hat and harmonica) performs on the Chicago Riverwalk on Thursday. His appearance was orchestrated by Friends of the Chicago River, partnering with Old Town School of Folk Music to present 77 Beats.
The 71-year-old blues musician was born in Trinidad and lived in Canada before settling in Chicago in 1977. He performed at the legendary Theresas Lounge on Chicagos south side in the 1970s and 1980s.
Through fall, at unique and unexpected locations, 77 Beats will celebrate the music and culture of all 77 of Chicagos ethnically-diverse neighborhoods.
