Hancock observatory for two

November 7, 2012 – You probably cannot put a price on having the entire 94th floor John Hancock Observatory to yourself for an hour starting at midnight, but the John Hancock Observatory can. And it is $2,000.

The offer is being made to customers of MasterCard only. Suggestions for use of the space are limited to romance but at least through the end of the year, the observatory promises “a spectacular view of Chicago and four states [Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin] while sipping on fine French champagne from engraved souvenir champagne flutes.”

Midnight is one hour after the observatory closes each day. A spokesperson for the observatory declined to detail attendance figures but the attraction promotes itself as “one of Chicago’s most visited tourist attractions.”
