February 29, 2016 – A semi-automatic handgun was used in two street robberies late at night near River North.

Semi-automatic handguns fire faster. The energy of a fired round advances the next round into position for firing.

In both incidents, three black men approached a victim on the street, produced a black semi-automatic handgun, and demanded property, according to an alert issued on Sunday by Chicago Police Department.

It happened on February 9 near West Oak Street & North Clark Street and on February 21 near West Chicago Avenue & North Franklin Street.

The only other description is that the men are in their late teens to early 20s.
