Gourmet grocer’s move to River North delayed

April 4, 2011 – Plans to bring Fox & Obel to Kinzie & Clark are “on hold,” according to a spokesperson for the River North Residents Association. Lana Berkovich, RNRA development chairperson, says “there’s an issue with financing.”

Photo by Steven Dahlman Last July, it was announced the gourmet grocer would move into ground floor space at Greenway Self Park (left). On March 23, Crain’s reported that the store was facing eviction from its current Streeterville location, a situation that may have since been resolved at least temporarily.

A spokesperson for Fox & Obel did not respond to email from MCO asking for an update.
