Photo gallery moving into former condo meeting room

July 13, 2010 – The former meeting room for Marina Towers Condominium Association – that sat empty for only about six months – is being rented to a photography gallery with a showroom on Michigan Avenue.

Cesar Russ, who was born in Madrid and now lives in Chicago, will turn the space into an office and showroom. His collections include landscape images of Chicago, Berlin, Los Angeles, New York, and Paris.

“It’s going to become a destination,” says gallery co-owner Beatriz Ronzero. “We have a lot of plans with the space.”

Ronzero says they want to eventually create a studio at the Marina City location and open a division that offers portraits.

The space is currently being renovated and Ronzero believes it will be ready in about two weeks.

Russ will keep the gallery that has been located in The Shops of North Bridge since 2008. “We opened this space with an idea to share photography in a different way,” says Ronzero about the current location. “More open, accessible.”
