Fall 2015 bridge lift schedule

September 9, 2015 – To help tall boats pass through short bridges, Chicago Department of Transportation announced on Tuesday the Fall 2015 bridge lift schedule.

The boats will leave Lake Michigan over the next three months for winter storage. During a boat run, each bridge along the main and south branch of the Chicago River is raised one at a time and each lift takes about 8-12 minutes.
