June 16, 2010 – (Above) New carpet, baseboards, two types of paneling, darker colors, and brighter lights greet visitors to the 20th floors of both towers at Marina City. (Click on image to view larger version.)

The renovation, which cost Marina Towers Condominium Association $17,500, includes new 24-foot-long lighting fixtures in each elevator vestibule, with limestone and a mirror along the walls.

Laundry and storage facilities are located on the 20th floors of both towers. A new fitness room opened on the 20th floor of the west tower last October and there is a new MTCA meeting room in the same space in the east tower.

The condo association is currently renovating the 53rd floor of the east tower, turning it into a “model floor” to give residents a taste of proposed changes to the circular hallways.
